Hydrive — Marine Steering Systems

Hydrive Engineering has manufactured hydraulic boat steering in South Australia since 1966, growing into one of the Southern Hemisphere's leading steering makers with more than 800,000 systems sold around the world. Every unit is individually tested before despatch — Hydrive doesn't batch test — and published safety margins exceed marine survey society requirements, tested to meet the safety standards of international survey authorities including Lloyd's, CCS and BV. The range is built for harsh marine conditions, with the premium Admiral series using chrome-plated marine-grade brass cylinders engineered for the corrosive tropical waters of northern Australia.

The range covers vessels from 5 metres to over 100 metres: Commander value kits and Admiral premium kits for outboards to 350 hp single (1200 hp twin), sterndrive-specific cylinders for Mercruiser and Volvo Penta, inboard rudder kits, the heavy-duty HD series with rudder torques to 2,651 KgM, and power-assisted electro-hydraulic systems for the biggest vessels. Helm pumps, cylinders, hose kits, ULTRA-15 fluid and seal kits complete the system.
